We are a Swiss style carnival band who love to dress up and dance while playing loud fun music. We have an infectious nature to our music which leaves a lasting impression on people who see us play. Although we are not ‘note perfect’, the energy and fun that comes from our music is enjoyed by all.
The only Swiss style carnival band in New Zealand, we play an interesting mix of modern and traditional music and are predominantly made up of brass instruments and percussion.
Guggemusik Auckland was founded in 1984 by Peter Schüpbach a Swiss immigrant. Over the years the band has gone from strength to strength, providing a unique sound and level of energy not found in other music groups.
The band is in big demand where organisers require a fun atmosphere. Guggemusik Auckland play at a variety of events including the Whitianga Scallop Festival, Okere Falls Beer Festival, the Auckland and Hamilton Farmers Christmas parades, and a number of smaller Christmas parades in the communities around Auckland.
