MOTAT Night Lights

We’ve had fun helping light up MOTAT at the Martariki Night Lights event in June. We accessorized ourselves with lights, glow sticks, bangles and rings. They had lots of other great performers, was fantastic to be part of it.

We’ve had great fun playing at some of the FIFA U20 World Cup games at North Harbour stadium recently. We rocked our kiwi fruit and kiwi bird costumes for the first two NZ games. The opening game on Saturday and the Tuesday evening game. We played outside the gates to welcome people arriving, then again at half time. The kid’s were enjoying the half time performance dancing along with us.

Auckland Swiss Market Day

We played at the Swiss market day in Auckland on 10 May 2014. They had a great setup with a bouncy castle and merry go round for children. Lots of Swiss food including Lebkuchen, Raclette, Bratwurst and Appenzeller cheese.  The inside was lined with market stalls selling an array of interesting produce and items. Guggemusik entertained the punters twice during the afternoon, playing inside and outside.

Melbourne Swiss Festival

Guggemusik  and the Swiss Kiwi Yodel group started our adventure with a super early airport check-in of 3:40am! A few coffees’ later we arrived in Melbourne where we spent the day exploring the area, shopping and many of us taking nap. That  afternoon we played at the UBS bank for a short while, before tenants on another floor couldn’t continue their meeting while listening to us play! So we left there and headed to the Swiss Club for dinner. They put on a great spread and we had lots of friendly people from the Melbourne Swiss club welcoming us.

Saturday was a free day for people to explore the area, in the afternoon we went down to Queens Bridge Square to see where the festival will be on, we played a couple of tunes, and then went out to dinner.

Sunday was the big day, it was an early start with face painting. Then we walked from our hotel down to the event. It was right on the riverside with stalls of swiss food including, cheeses, crepes, ice creams and sausages. The queue for the swiss sausages went half way across the festival area, they were good! We played every hour for approximately 10 mins. The crowd really enjoyed our music. There was a full program all day of swiss dancing, yodelers, singers and search and rescue dog handlers. After the festival we went to a near by pub for a well earned drink.

On Monday people spent the morning exploring Melbourne further before heading to the airport in the afternoon.

A very successful trip and LOADS of fun! Check out the photo gallery for more pictures.

St Patricks Day Parade 2014

The weather was touch and go in Auckland with cyclone Lusi passing over night. The rain cleared in time for the parade down Queen Street. Guggemusik lead the way playing MacNamara’s band, Tipperary and La Cucaracha.  The afternoon was topped off with a pint at O’Haagens Irish bar.

Auckland Farmers Parade 2013

It is always a blistering hot day for the Auckland Farmer’s Santa Parade and this year was no exception. With hundreds of thousands of people lining the streets with sunhats, sunscreen and sun umbrellas.  Guggemusik were part of section 4 which meant we were ready to start our march down Queen Street around 2:20pm. The new Wizard costumes were sparkling in the sunlight and children were squealing in delight as we marched past playing Jingle Bells and Jingle Bell rock.
